| Description | Evacuation test hike of twelve miles. Members of the University of Chicago Outing Club listen as Jay Orear (left) details the route of the hike from Hyde Park's 57th Street and Woodlawn Avenue to Palos Park. The purpose of the hike is to determine the minimum time required on foot to reach safety in the event of an H-bomb attack on the city.
